Assumptions, declaration
I try not to presume a basic knowledge of Number Theory of my audience, but obviously I cannot give a basic course in NT and cover what I want to cover without cutting some corners. Apologies to those who know things, and who would perfer a faster pace.
I include some proofs, but there may be places where I'll have to hand wave a little.
In a serious attempt to not fall between too many stools - by foolishly trying to cover everything - I have had to cut out many, many topics and discoveries. Thus, what I present here, is not all that I could describe.
I am currently writing up the work for submission to the MAA's Monthly (even then I have chosen to leave out some elements). I got delayed in the preparation of this talk and have not been able to read through it to check for foolish errors.
